Mardi Gras Party 2002

Well, it's been here and gone. Another successful Mardi Gras! and Mardi Gras party! You can always tell the success of an event by either the amount of sales it generated or by how much food was consumed. Since we didn't charge a cover to get in, (although a thought for next year) we certainly consumed enough for a small town!

The final numbers are in:

1.5 Gallons of Gumbo                                   8 lbs. of Shrimp

1.5 Gallons of Jambalaya                            5 Gallons of Pat O Briens Hurricane mix

1 Gallon of Red beans and Rice                 5 Fifths (bottles) of Myers Dark Rum

2 King cakes                                                 4 dozen Beignets (French donuts)

And nearly a pound of Aunt Sally's Pralines!

Here's the Pics. Email me with any questions or comments!

Thought I would take some pics of what the pub looked like before the party.    Mardi Gras 2002    Mardi Gras 2002    The outside patio was all ready to go. We tarped in the patio like we do on Halloween. It was very windy and cold night. At least the heater kept it about 55 degrees.    The otherside of the patio. It was a little to chilly to hang out here. But the tapper was still ready to go.     Mardi Gras 2002    Party Sign    The bar was ready to serve!!! And boy did it!    Too many cooks in the kithen? Nope, it took that much help for this layout.    Just like last year. Ellis Lagassie at the controls of huge pot o' shrimp. Man, can he cook the shrimp!!! I think we will have to start calling him Bubba!    Mark and Amy enjoying the festivities.    Micheal being mix master again. Making sure everyone has a drink in their hand!    A meal fit for a king!! Michele made: Gumbo, Jambalya, Red Beans and Rice, and King cake for dessert.    Niether the drinks Micheal made or the shrimp had a chance at this party!    Amy even brought a King cake. We all were looking at some good eatin'!    8pm Party at Randy and Vette's. I think the Hurricanes were starting to take effect. Some of these pics came out fuzzy!    Greg enjoying a Waborita! (Blue perfect Margarita) He probably doesn't even know who Sammy Hagar is. I think he still enjoyed the drink!    Everyone's keepin' busy.    We fired up the "You Don't Know Jack" game. I have it on a network, so one team was on the couch, and the other team at the bar. Second year in a row that the guys came out over all winners!!! It just goes to show the girls, "You Don't Know Jack"!    Micheal was daring enough to try the purple beer!    He even drank it?! Wow. Daring!    The buffett line finally slowed down.    Pierce the Mardi Gras dog!    It's karoke time!    Send me your own caption to this picture. ( randyboden@hotmail.com ). Let;'s just say the shrimp we had were huge, in more ways than one!    The crowd started thinning out after micheal picked up the microphone.
